• Raoul AscariChairman

    Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of SACE S.p.A, the Italian export credit agency. He joined SACE in 2000; prior to this position he was the Head of Risk Management and Chief Financial Officer. Between 2006 and 2009, Mr. Ascari served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Berne Union Medium-long Term Committee.
    Prior to joining SACE, Mr. Ascari worked for FIAT USA where he held the position of Vice President for International Finance and Head of the Washington DC FIAT office. His previous experience also includes the World Bank, where he worked in the East Africa Region as Advisor to the Italian Executive Director and Member of the Board. Mr. Ascari holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bologna and completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Bradford (UK). He teaches postgraduate courses in Economic Development and African Affairs at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.

  • Riccardo FanelliManaging Director

    He was responsible for the “New Frontiers - Africa Program” in SACE until June 2016.
    He has more than 20 years of experience in the export credit insurance business and previously he was the Head of SACE’s Office in Johannesburg competent for SACE’s activity in 49 countries. Earlier he headed up SACE’s Kenya desk in Nairobi at the African Trade Insurance Agency. Before moving to Africa, he was the Head of the Bank Risk Assessment and Monitoring team, and headed the group’s domestic network of SACE’s credit and risk analysis department in Rome.

  • Pierluigi BelliniFinancial Modelling and Analytics

    From 2004 to 2017, Mr. Bellini worked at IHS Markit as a Director of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region automotive consulting practice. Previously, he held several corporate positions at Ford and Fiat HQ, dealing with strategic projects on plant sites location, supply chain management, and restructuring of the distribution network, in both developed and emerging countries. Mr. Bellini was also  a consultant at the World Bank (Africa department) and Inter-American Development Bank (Latin America) HQs in Washington DC (USA) where he worked on infrastructure development, trade, and finance. Mr. Bellini holds a degree in Economics and Banking from the University of Siena (Italy) and a master's degree in Economics from Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he specialized in financial economics and modelling.

  • Giorgio TraiettiValue Chain Director

    He worked for SACE S.p.A. from 2009 to 2017, first as Political Risk Insurance Underwriter, and later as an Account Manager at the SACE Branch in Modena from 2011, then as Head of East Africa in Nairobi from 2015. He holds an MBA from the Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Rome “Roma Tre”.

  • Charles DagoInstitutional Relations

    He is currently Head of Relations with National and International Institutions for Self-Globe, Professor at the Universities of Sassari and La Sapienza in Rome and President of AgrotechSD. He was Co-ordinator of the Italian Breeders Association, FAO Consultant and founder of FESASS (European Federation for Animal Health and Health Security).

  • Alessandro BarbieriFinancial Structuring

    His previous experiences include Wood & Company Financial Services, where he worked for the fixed income front-office, ProMéxico, the trust fund of the Mexican government that promotes international trade and investment, and Method Investment and Advisory, London head-office, where he focused on Impact Investments. He holds a Master Degree in International Relations at ASERI, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan and a Bachelor’s degree in International Cooperation for Development at Università Cattolica of Milan.

  • Davide AggazzottiFinancial Structuring

    He worked in the Advisory practice of PwC as a management consultant for the financial services industry, focusing on banking and capital markets. Previously, he gained experience in Export Credit, Trade Finance and Corporate Finance working as a Junior Account and Policy Underwriter at SACE, being part of the team covering the Centre-North of Italy. He holds a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

  • Whitney PragassaRepresentative (Nairobi Office)

    After completing a Bachelor’s Degree of International Business Administration in Marketing, she holds a Master of Business Administration, in Strategic Management.

  • Maguette BaRepresentative (Dakar Office)

    She has held consultative roles for multiple companies in Paris in areas such as team organization and client relationship management. She is also dedicated to the fair trade business experience between Europe and West Africa

  • Simon PalmerRepresentative (Johannesburg Office)

    He started his career on major projects in the UK including working with TML the contractor for the Channel Tunnel project, from there moved to international projects. Then joined CMC as a Project Manager in Mozambique in 1998 and has been Business Development Director for CMC di Ravenna in Sub Saharan Africa Region since 2004. Was instrumental in CMC’s move into the UK market and a Director of the UK company.
    Mr Palmer has a Bachelor Hons. in Civil Engineering from University of Newcastle, UK and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Bath, UK.
